Weekly project: your one-page marketing strategy

Project

~150 min

Everything from this week collapses into one page. Real marketing strategies that get used are short; the 40-slide deck is where strategies go to die. Yours must fit on a single page (roughly 500 words max) that a busy business owner could read in five minutes and act on.

The deliverable

A one-page marketing strategy for your chosen brand, containing exactly these six blocks:

  1. Brand snapshot — 2–3 lines: what you sell, to whom, at what price point.
  2. Audience — your two personas, compressed to 2 lines each (name, core need, where they are online).
  3. Positioning — your value proposition in the "We help [who] get [outcome] without [pain], unlike [alternative]" format, plus one line on the competitor gap you're exploiting (from your teardown).
  4. Goals & KPIs — one primary SMART goal for the next 90 days, plus 2–3 KPIs. Mark clearly which is the money KPI and which are diagnostic.
  5. Channel mix — primary, secondary, and owned channel, each with: why this channel (tie to persona), what it does in the funnel (awareness/consideration/conversion/retention), and roughly how much of a stated monthly budget (in ₦, with a $ equivalent) goes to it.
  6. First three moves — the three concrete actions you'd take in week one (e.g. "set up WhatsApp Business catalog", "shoot 10 product photos", "claim Google Business Profile").

Requirements checklist

  • Fits on one page (~500 words); a stranger could act on it
  • Personas trace back to the evidence from your persona lab
  • Value proposition names who, outcome, pain, and alternative
  • SMART goal has a number and a deadline; money KPI clearly flagged
  • Channel mix is 3 channels max, each justified against a persona and funnel stage
  • Budget allocation stated in naira (with dollar equivalent) and sums correctly
  • First three moves are doable within one week, no fantasy resources

You may draft blocks with ChatGPT or Claude, but the final page must be edited into your own voice and grounded in YOUR research — a reviewer can tell a template from a strategy in one paragraph.

Reviewer checks

Coherence across the page: the goal serves the brand, the channels serve the personas, the first moves serve the goal. Positioning is specific enough that it couldn't describe a rival. Budget is realistic for a Nigerian small business. Every block traces to work from this week's labs, not fresh guesses. KPI named for the strategy as a whole.
