This is the week's checkpoint. There is no grade and no time limit — only "done confidently" or "let us practise a little more and try again". Retrying is completely normal and everybody does it at some point.
Show your instructor, without help:
- Open a new project and rename it.
- Drag out three blocks from at least two different categories and snap them together into one stack.
- Run the stack by clicking it and explain what you expected to happen before it ran.
- Change a number inside one block and run it again, describing the difference.
- Add a second sprite and give it one block of its own — proving the blocks went to the right sprite.
While you work, your instructor may ask:
- "Which sprite is selected right now? How do you know?"
- "What is the difference between the palette and the code area?"
- "Your script does nothing when you click it. What is the first thing you check?"
- "What does the
wait 1 secondsblock do for us?"
Passed?
Look at what happened: you gave a computer instructions and it obeyed them. That is the whole job, and everything from here is just richer instructions. Next week we take proper control of where sprites are and how they look — coordinates, costumes, and speech bubbles.
